The traveling Teddy Bear is back. I decided after having visited the Netherlands, but that everybody calls Holland, not to take the plane but to take the train and travel to Belgium.
I arrived at Brussels which is the capital city of Belgium. Belgium is a monarchy and is known as The Kingdom of Belgium. The King of Belgium is Albert II. Belgium borders The Netherlands, which I just left, Germany, France and Luxemburg.
Belgium is divided in three parts, speaking three different languages which are all official languages of the country which are French, Dutch and German.
I stayed a few days in Brussels, where is found the NATO, Eurocontrol and the Western European Union. In Brussels I saw spectacular buildings.
I visited the Saint Michael and Gudula’s Cathedral. I also visited the Basilica of the Sacred Heart which is located in Koekelberg. You can see me on the picture in front of the church.
Being in Brussels and not see the Manneken Pis you miss something. You are asking yourself what is that for strange name, it is a statue of a small boy urinating in a small basin.
I also went to the Royal Museums of Fine Arts, the Royal Palace of Laeken, and the Grand Place. Don’t forget the Atonium, a spectacular monument.
After Brussels, I went to Antwerp known to the French speaking region as Anvers. While visiting the city I saw a lot Jewish. Antwerp is the city of jewelers and diamond. I spent a day in the Antwerp Zoo.
I also visited Liege, Brugge, Oostende, Mons, Leuven, Dinant, Hasselt, Charleroi and some other cities.
I tasted the Belgium Beer and the Belgium chocolate. Hmmm… was great experience. Oh! I forgot I also tried the Belgium waffles.
After Belgium I took my map and was thinking if I would stay in Europe and visit some other countries or go somewhere else.
While being in Belgium I heard about Greece, I thought I would go to Greece to learn a little about the Greek people and its mythology.
I see you in Greece. Oh! I need to go I will miss my plane.
