Here I am I finally arrived in Holland. But did you know that Holland is not the official name of the country, it is often misused, and the official name is the Netherlands. The name Holland comes from the word “holtland”. Holland is part of Netherlands located in the central western region of the country.
After some hours flight, I landed in the capital city of The Netherlands, Amsterdam. I needed to get used with the time differences between the last country I visited Japan and the Netherlands.
I was so impatient to visit this city. I heard so much about it. I decided I would spend some days in this fabulous city. So I started to look for a hotel. I bought a map of Amsterdam to have a look where would be the best place to have a stay.
When coming out of the airport, the weather was not so nice, but this did not disturb me. Then I looked for a taxi to bring me to my hotel. On my way I saw the flag of the Netherlands which has three colors red, white and blue.
I finally arrived to my hotel and forgot that I needed to pay the taxi in Euro I was giving the taxi driver Japanese Yen. Luckily I had some Euros in my pocket.
Then I thought I would also need a translation dictionary because I couldn’t understand single word of their language which is Dutch. But luckily I saw that a lot of people spoke English.
I thought I would take the train to make my visits in the cities of Netherlands.
Then I was thinking that I absolutely need to visit a coffee shop I heard so much about it. Do you think they will let a little Teddy Bear like me enter one of these shops. Ok let just try it we will see what happens.
Let me give some tips of the best places I visited when I was in the Netherlands. You can’t miss to visit the Red Light District when you are in Amsterdam, the Dam Square, Anne Frank House, the Centraal Station, Herengracht, and the Western Harbour.
Here some of the other cities I visited during my stay in the Netherlands, Eindoven, Rotterdam, The Hague and Utrecht.
The Dutch people were very friendly and they all wanted a picture with me. They found it so funny a Teddy Bear traveling all around the world and I also told them about my last trips.
So what would be the next destination! Still thinking about it!
