Morocco

Oops! Need to learn Arabic I think. Let’s see if it was a good choice to go to Morocco. But I heard that in Morocco a lot of people speak French; it should be okay for me as I have some knowledge in French.

After having done some research on the internet, I found that Rabat is the capital city of Morocco. I thought it was Casablanca the capital of Morocco. But Casablanca is the largest city. Rabat has a population of over 1.2 million. Rabat is the home of foreign embassies and large number of attractions.

Morocco is located in the Northern part of Africa. In Rabat, I made pictures of The Hassan Tower, the Mausoleum of Mohamed V and the Chellah necrocopolis.

Casablanca is one of the most visited cities in Morocco and is the largest too and is in Maghreb the biggest city. Casablanca is home of the Hassan II Mosque. I also saw the Casablanca Twin Center.  By the way, Casablanca is a Spanish word meaning, “white house”.

Morocco’s official name is Kingdom of Morocco. Morocco has a Mediterranean climate which I appreciated a lot.

Moroccan food is very diverse. The cuisine is a mix of Spanish, Berber, Middle Eastern African and Mediterranean and Moorish. The cuisine of Morocco is very spicy. Of course, I tried the famous couscous, tajine and harira which are some of the main dishes of the country. I loved it.

Some of cities I visited were, Agadir, Tangier, Marrakech, Meknes.

Now I need my world map to choose my next destination.
