New Zealand
Here I am in New Zealand. The country of adventure and adrenalin!
I think I will have a great time here, as I love adrenalin and adventure of course!
New Zealand is located in the Southwest Pacific Ocean.
Did you guys know that this country was almost as big as United Kingdom? Yes it is.
The Maoris were the first inhabitants of New Zealand. Elizabeth 2 is officially the Queen of New Zealand but she has no real political influence on the island.
In 1642 a Dutch navigator, Abel Tasman, explored the island.
Since 1865, Wellington is the capital city.
The Maori legend says that the capital was first discovered by Kupe, a Polynesian explorer and called it “Te Whanganui a Tara” which means the great harbour of Tara.
New Zealand is divided in two main islands the Northland and the Southland, they are separated by Cook Strait. The official languages spoken in New Zealand are English and Maori.
I landed in the International Airport of Wellington; it is one of the three largest airports in New Zealand. After landing and had my entire luggage, I tried to find a hotel to rent a room.
My god! So many hotels and now which one to choose hmmm…
Let’s see may be the Novotel Hotel. Oh! There is the Ibis hotel, why not Brentwood Hotel or the West Plaza, the Duxton Hotel seems also interesting.
Finally I chose the Kingsgate Hotel. I had a little sleep before I start to visit Wellington, the Capital of New Zealand.
I started my visit by the beautiful harbour of Wellington, I made beautiful pictures there.
After the harbour, I visited the Antrim House, which was built by Robert Hannah around the year 1904; he is the founder of Hannah’s footwear company. In 1979 it was given to the New Zealand Historical place.
Then I thought I would pray a little and went to the Cathedral Church of St Paul.
After the church I went to have a ride on these croc bikes that can be rented in the Crocodile Company.
After my ride I visited the car Museum, The museum has a collection of 200 cars and 125 motorbikes. That was a great adventure.
After my visit to Wellington, I went the city of Auckland. It is known as the city of sails.
The city has temperate climate, with warm, humid summers.
Auckland City is the largest city of New Zealand with 1/4 of the country’s population.
I visited the Zoo of Auckland, there is 150 animal species, over 400 animals; it took me a few hours to visit the zoo. It is surrounded with a rainforest; I saw the Asian elephants, the penguins, the hippos and made a lot of pictures.
I visited the two harbours of Auckland, the Waitemata Harbour and the Manukau harbour.
I went to the War Memorial Museum, Waiwera hot pools, and of course I tasted some wine. There are over 30 vineyards in West Auckland.
I think I drank too much wine, I was feeling dizzy after.
Then I visited some other cities of New Zealand.
I went to Hamilton city, Christchurch city, Dunedin, Palmerston city.
And yes! I went to Queenstown known as the capital of adventure, as I love adventure for me it was the best place.
I made also some kayaking; exactly I learned to do some. I did also some fishing. The last few days I spent it on the beautiful beaches.
I can say that I had a great time in New Zealand, and now I need to plan which country will be the next. I am thinking of Mexico or Philippines.

Find me in one of these two countries.
