I finally chose to go not far Thailand I went to Singapore. Seems that I will be able to do great shopping in this country. So I am sure I will be able to fill my suitcases with a lot of presents for all my friends and family.
My visit started in Singapore City the capital of the country. There are lot of huge buildings everywhere you look. You can see it on the picture. I look so small in front of these skyscrapers.
The weather was great in Singapore. I learned something; Singapore is the smallest country of Southeast Asia but very modern.
Everybody could understand me there, as the official language is English but also Malay, Mandarin and Tamil.
I didn’t spend long in Singapore because I wanted to make a stop in Germany, my country of origin, to say hello and leave at home all the things I bought.
Here is some of the places of interested I visited during my short stay, the Jurong Bird Park which is also the largest in Southeast Asia with more than six hundred bird species. I made loads of pictures in the park. Also visited the Singapore Crocodilarium, Peranakan Place Museum, and the National Museum of Singapore. Went to Chinatown, then had some nice meals at Changi Village where I also spent some time on the beach.
I also visited the East Coast Park, the Chinese Garden, and Little India where there is a small group of Indian living; you will think you are in India seeing the women walking around in saris. I visited the National Orchid Garden.
I also tasted the Malay cuisine; it is not what would eat as food everyday but was tasty.
For a small country, there is a lot to visit. Now I will take the plane back to Germany, if I am able to get my entire luggage on the plane. Will take some days rest and continue my trip.
I see you in England.
